Academy Director
Varga is the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at the University of South Alabama. In Varga’s twelve seasons at USA, he has become the program’s all-time leader in wins at 96. The 2000 team finished as Sun Belt Conference regular season champions. Varga came to USA after building the Lincoln Memorial University men’s and women’s soccer program into NCAA Division II powers. He led the women’s team to a Gulf South Conference championship in 1997, and finished his five-year career with a 65-25-7 record. During that time his teams were ranked as high as 10th in the NCAA Division II National Poll.
Varga played his collegiate soccer at Ashland University where he was named MVP three times. After his collegiate playing days he went on to play in the USISL and in Europe. Varga holds his USSF coaching license, and his NSCAA Premier Diploma. He has been very active in the Olympic Development program currently serving as head coach for the 1994 Alabama Girl’s ODP state team. Varga is also the NSCAA Technical Coordinator for the State of Alabama and instructs numerous coaching courses.

Brian Diaz
Assistant Coach
Goalkeeper Director, Brian Diaz, is the Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach for the University of South Alabama. Diaz will begin his third season at USA after a stellar playing career at Tusculum College in Tennessee. Prior to being an assistant at USA, Diaz served as an Assistant at Tusculum College, East Tennessee State University and Newberry College in South Carolina and as Head Coach at Converse College in South Carolina. Diaz is also currently on the Alabama State ODP staff as a goalkeeper trainer and Age Group Coach with the 1998 girls. He holds his premier diploma through the NSCAA.
